I had a great time attending the Fashion and Beaujolais Moon Party at Eau Spa at the Ritz-Carlton, Manalapan. Upon my arrival we were greeted and immediately handed a glass of George La Beouf’s newly launched Beaujolais which was absolutely delectable down to the last drop.

Highlights of the Eau So Fabulous event included:
Resident DJ, Adam Lipson, played a variety of electronica style music which added to the relaxing Zen-like atmosphere.

The temperature was comfortable and mild with no humidity. The Eau Spa’s Self Centered Garden was the place to be seen to celebrate the launch of Beaujolais Nouveau.

The Polish and Scrub Bar spa attendant Barbara offered us a demonstration of how the bar works and allowing you to sample their luxurious scrubs. Barbara explained the differences in the ingredients that you can choose to add to your DIY scrub and it was very informational.

The passed hors d’oeuvres were as unique to look at as they were to taste. I enjoyed the artistic presentation of every last one. I especially got a kick out of the oysters that were served on a tray that looked the bottom of the ocean. The unique culinary creations by Temple Orange Restaurant’s chefs were a tasty preview of the fine culinary dishes the restaurant has to offer.

Just in time for holiday shopping, the entertaining fashion show displayed a variety of the newest fashions available at the Beautique. Fashions from Barefoot Elegance, Q by Dorit, Johnny Was, and Seneca Moss were displayed my models who walked the petal- covered runway in the center of the garden. Models walked to the tunes of the resident DJ and showed off some really chic clothing options.

Moonlight Parties are something that Eau Spa by Cornelia hosts throughout the year. I will be at the next one for sure and you should too.

Say hello to 12 new shades of Shellace

This month Shellac addicts everywhere will rejoice as CND (Creative Nail Design, inc.) launches twelve new shades expanding the line to 24 colors in their collection.

For those of you who have not had a chance to try out Shellac, it is a professional salon service and cannot be bought in stores. It was revolutionary to the nail industry because the product offers a flawless, glossy manicure with a mirror finish that does not nick, chip, smudge or smear like your average everyday nail color.

Shellac’s May 2010 launch had the nail industry in a frenzy. According to CND, within one month of its introduction, Shellac sold out four times over.  Other benefits to the product line are it is hypo-allergenic and 3-Free (no formaldehyde, toluene or DBP). The product leaves a brilliant shiny finish with maintenance-free wear and safely removes in 10-minutes.

This holiday season go Hollywood red or Masquerade burgundy on your next salon visit. Prices generally range from $25-45 for manicures and  $40-60 for pedicures depending on location.  Local Palm Beach Spas and salons everywhere offer Shellac. Visit the Salon Locator at cnd.com to see if your favorite Palm Beach area spa/salon is offering this modern-must and you will never go back to regular old nail polish again!

Hawaiian Bliss

Hawaiian Bliss at Maui Spa Boca Raton

Who knew you could get a taste of paradise right in your back yard! Just off Boca Raton Boulevard, you will find The Maui Spa, where Hawaiian is not just a decorative theme. There are plenty of reasons why this spa stands out from the rest, from their unique treatments to their tropical techniques.

Start your Hawaiian experience off with an aromatherapy foot soak, in the Kipahula room, while snacking on fresh pineapple, pink grapefruit and fresh orange slices. This relaxation area is dark with the illusion of stars on the ceiling. There are comfy sofas to kick back while you await your spa attendant.

Then relax aloha style with a specialty Hawaiian massage technique called Lomi Lomi. It is said to be a “nurturing and deep form of Hawaiian massage is based on an ancient, shamanic rite of passage that was originally designed to enlighten the being in the physical body. A complete system of hands-on healing that includes flowing forearm techniques used to “rub out” stress contained within and balance the heart, mind and body.”

Other must tries that will allow you to “taste” paradise include:

NiuPa’akai (Organic Sugar Scrub)
With your choice of coconut, pineapple or mango this Sugar scrub will leave you with silky baby soft skin when they use fresh sugar cane crystals to gently buff away dull skin cells and unclog pores.  Fresh coconut milk and a blend of exotic nut oils hydrate and nourish your skin. (30 min/$65)

Liliko’ I Laimi  (Passion Fruit)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Similar to the Sugar Scrub this treatment polishes your body using an exotic blend of passion fruit and lime. (30 min/$65)

Wai Meli ( Honey)

The body is exfoliated first with loofa and a plumeria, an authentic Hawaiian flower, shower gel. Then  warm organic honey is applied and gently massaged into the body. Then you are wrapped in a sheet and escorted  into the steam room allowing all the to penetrate your skin before rinsing. (30 min/$65)
